Departamento Académico de FitotecniaLa variedad Geisha de porte bajo (probablemente una mutación natural) presente en mi finca familiar paraíso III en Selva Central el 2013, y se las identifica el 2017 como tales, por su desarrollo de porte bajo, robusto, productivo y tolerantes a roya y otras plagas, en comparación a las plantas muy grandes de más de 5 metros de alto de origen de Etiopia, las que demuestran ser muy susceptibles a roya y otras plagas y son de baja productividad. Los Geishas de porte bajo y robusto se adaptan muy bien en climas húmedos tropicales de la selva central, en terrenos con estricta altura a no menos de 1500 msnm y se desarrollan con buena sombra de un 40% a 50%, especialmente de especies arbóreas de leguminosas y de especies arbóreas nativas, tolerando muy bien la roya del café y otras plagas, es exigente en materia orgánica y nutrientes por su contextura robusta de buen tamaño y de buena productividad. Lo notable es que ha demostrado versatilidad en los diversos procesos de procesamiento y de fermentación, tanto para lograr un buen café black honey, cherry o natural, como para café anaeróbico y muy importante es que estos cafés no contaminan el medio ambiente al procesarlos, ya que usan una mínima cantidad de agua para su post cosecha.The Geisha variety with low height (probably a natural mutation) on my family farm Paraíso III in the central jungle in 2013, and were identified as such in 2017 due to their development of short, robust, productive plants that are tolerant to coffee rust and other pests compared to the very large plants over 5 meters high from Ethiopia that are very susceptible to coffee rust and other pests and have low productivity.
