Departamento Académico de Ingeniería Ambiental, Física y MeteorologíaComo se sabe, el Perú es un país que cuenta con una gran biodiversidad de especies de flora y fauna, muchas de las cuales presentan algún estatus de conservación debido a la actividad antrópica. Una de las medidas del estado peruano para su preservación fue la creación del Servicio Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas, que tiene como uno de sus objetivos principales el de mantener muestras de los distintos tipos de comunidad natural, paisajes y formas fisiográficas, en especial de aquellos que representen diversidad única y distintiva del país. En particular, el presente estudio se enfoca en evaluar como el ruido proveniente del tráfico vehicular afecta a la comunidad de aves en el Área Natural Protegida Refugio de Vida Silvestre Pantanos de Villa; esta evaluación tuvo lugar en el mes de marzo del año 2017. Para evaluar el ruido se empleó el modelo de predicción SPreAD GIS, el cual incorpora información fisiográfica y meteorológica, haciéndolo un modelo matemático robusto. Como resultado se encontró que el ruido no afecta a la abundancia relativa al espacio o densidad poblacional; es decir, en lugares con niveles elevados de ruido, el número de individuos no fue menor respecto a los lugares con menor nivel de ruido como se hubiera esperado. Por otro lado, al evaluar como el ruido del tráfico afectaba a la diversidad de aves, se encontró que existía una correlación negativa; es decir, lugares con niveles elevados de ruido contaban con un menor índice de diversidad, respecto a los lugares con menores niveles de presión acústica. Las razones de estos resultados podrían deberse a que cuando se hizo el censo se identificó que había una gran cantidad de individuos pertenecientes a pocas especies, los cuales presentaban mecanismos de adaptación a lugares altamente urbanizados, como las gaviotas y los gallinazos.As it is known, Peru has great biodiversity counting flora and fauna species. A lot of them have been awarded some conservation status. One of the politics of the Peruvian state in order to preserve it was the creation of the National Service of Natural Protected Areas, that has among its goals the preservation of samples of different types of natural communities, landscapes, and physiographic forms, specially where there is unique and distinctive diversity for the country. Particularly, this thesis focus in the evaluation of how the traffic noise affects the bird community of the National Protected Area Refugio de Vida Silvestre Pantanos de Villa. The on-site evaluation took place in March of 2017. In order to evaluate the noise, the prediction model SPreAD GIS was used. It incorporates physiographic and meteorological information, making it a robust mathematic model. As a result of the research, it was found that noise does not affect the relative space abundance of birds; in areas with high sound pressure level, the number of birds was not inferior than that of areas with less sound pressure level, as it was expected. On the other hand, in the evaluation of how traffic noise affected the bird diversity, a negative correlation was evident; that is, areas with high sound pressure levels had less diversity index, in comparison to areas with less sound pressure levels. In areas with high sound pressure levels the bird census showed a lot of individuals, but fewer number of species than in areas with lower sound pressure levels.
