Departamento Académico de Economía y PlanificaciónEl Perú posee uno de los alimentos de mayor nivel nutricional como es la quinua, lo cual ha generado gran polémica a nivel mundial en los últimos años debido a la promulgación del Año Internacional de la Quinua (2013) declarada por la FAO y la ONU. La tesis tiene como objetivo identificar la problemática que afecta la competitividad de la cadena productiva de la quinua en la región Junín. Para ello se han colectado datos secundarios y primarios obtenidos con encuestas a productores y un taller participativo con participación de los actores de la cadena productiva, con esa información se realizó la tipificación de productores y evaluación de competitividad de la cadena productiva. Se demostró que la mayoría de productores de quinua poseen menos de hectárea y media, asimismo, no hay una buena articulación de ellos en sus eslabones “hacia atrás” y “hacia adelante” con los demás actores. Además, la cadena productiva en conjunto, es débilmente competitiva y está gobernada por el MINAGRI, GRJ, INIA, SENASA, PROMPERU y ONG’s, quienes determinan, controlan y/o coordinan las actividades de otros actores, en favor del rendimiento y competitividad de la cadena.Peru has one of the highest nutritional foods such as quinoa, which has generated great controversy in the world in recent years due to the promulgation of the International Year of Quinoa (2013) declared by the FAO and the ONU. The objective of this thesis is identify the problems that have affected the competitiveness of the productive chain of quinoa in the Junín region. To this end, was collected secondary and primary data obtained from producer surveys and a participatory workshop with the participation of actors in the productive chain. With this information, was made the typification of producers and the evaluation of competitiveness of the productive chain. It demonstrated that the majority of quinoa’s producers have less than one hectare and half, also, there is no good articulation of the producers backwards and forwards with other actors in the chain.
