description Introducción: es importante reconocer cuales son los problemas en la prescripción médica de pacientes adultos mayores. Este estudio realiza una investigación sistemática de artículos científicos. Objetivo: realizar una revisión sistemática de artículos científicos sobre problemas en la prescripción médica de pacientes adultos mayores. Materiales y métodos: se realizó una investigación cualitativa no experimental, descriptiva, de 121 artículos publicados entre 2019-2024 en bases de datos académicos como Scopus, scielo, Science Direct y Dialnet plus. Aplicando un análisis exhaustivo, fueron seleccionados 10 artículos sobre prescripciones inadecuadas en ancianos. Se usó como instrumento plantillas de extracción de datos y la técnica fue estrategia de búsqueda. Resultados: los problemas de prescripción médica en pacientes adultos mayores mostraron multimorbilidad, clase social, falta de uso de criterios. Stopp/Start, Beers, enfermedades crónicas y vulnerabilidad fisiológica como algunos de los factores causantes. Conclusión: existe una estrecha relación entre el médico y paciente que deben ser evaluados, algunos de estos son: falta de uso de criterio: Stopp/Start falta de conocimiento farmacológico y fisiológico en el paciente por parte del médico.

This study conducts a systematic review of scientific articles, highlighting the significance for public health and avoiding irreversible consequences in this population when receiving treatment for their pathological condition. Adjective: to conduct a systematic review of scientific articles on problems in medical prescription for older adult patients. Methods: this was carried out through a systematic analysis of 10 selected scientific articles from academic databases such as Scopus, SciELO, ScienceDirect, and Dialnet Plus, along with other cited publications that have reinforced the concepts of the study. Results: medical prescription problems in older adult patients were found to involve multimorbidity, social class, lack of use of criteria such as Stopp/Start, Berrs, chronic diseases, and physiological vulnerability as some of the contributing factors. Conclusion: there is a close relationship between the doctor and patient that must be evaluated.
