Se midieron los niveles de glucosa en sangre a tiempos basal, 0h, 2h, 4h, 6h, 24h, 48h y 72h. Resultados: el extracto de yacón mostró la presencia de alcaloides, taninos, saponinas, flavonoides y fructooligosacáridos. La mayor eficacia hipoglicemiante al día lo presentó el extracto de yacón a dosis de 200 mg/kg (66.57%), siendo más eficaz a la sexta hora 65.51%. Conclusiones: se concluyó que el extracto de yacón posee efecto hipoglicemiante en ratones albinos diabéticos causados por aloxano.

Blood glucose levels were measured at basal times, 0h, 2h, 4h, 6h, 24h, 48h and 72h. Results: yacón extract contain alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, and fructooligosaccharides. The yacon extract showed the greatest daily hypoglycemic efficacy at a dose of 200 mg/kg (66.57%), being most effective at the sixth hour (65.51%).
