Para inducir hepatotoxicidad agudo a ratas se usó el método de Ochoa modificado en la dosis del agente inductor; el agente inductor fue el paracetamol 400 mg/kg de peso corporal administrado por vía intraperitoneal por 5 días. Se administraron por vía oral 100, 300 y 500 mg/Kg del extracto durante 5 días.
