La población estuvo conformada por 125 y una muestra de 94 pacientes del consultorio externo de endocrinología. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó el cuestionario la cual obtuvo una confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach de 0.899 y 0.912 respectivamente. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 64.9% presentaron un nivel bueno, un 25.5 % un nivel regular y el 9.6 % un nivel malo de imagen corporal, también arrojaron en cuanto a la segunda variable, el 46.8% tiene un nivel regular, el 45.7% nivel bueno y 7.4 % nivel malo del autocuidado. Se concluye que la variable percepción de la imagen corporal está relacionada directa y positivamente con la variable autocuidado, (0.935), aceptándose la hipótesis alterna y rechazando la hipótesis nula. Por lo que se recomienda al Director del Hospital Sergio E. Bernales incluir en su Plan operativo impulsar el consultorio de Pie Diabético, para que se convierta en una unidad y la atención a los pacientes, sea integral, con el equipo multidisciplinario de salud.

Bernales Hospital in 2019. The method used was descriptive since it associates to the two variables, the design was correlational cross-section quantitative type. In addition, the study sample consisted by 125 people and a sample by 94 patients from external endocrinology clinic. For data collection it has been used the questionnaire which had a reliability from Cromback¨s Alpha of 0.899 and 0.912 respectively. The result showed that the 64.9% has a good level, the 25.5% a regular level and the 9.6% a bad level in relation to the variable of body image on the other hand, for the variable self-care, the 46.8% has a regular level, the 45.7% a good level and the 7.4% a bad level. In conclusion, the variable ¨body image is related directly and positively to the variable ¨self-care¨ (0.935), accepting the alternative hypothesis and rejecting the null hypothesis. So, it suggested to the Chief of Sergio E.
