El estudio es cuantitativo básico de corte transversal no experimental, descriptivo simple. La población y muestra fue de 300 y 56 pobladores respectivamente. La técnica utilizada fue las encuestas validadas por expertos nacionales y extranjeros. Los Resultados fueron: con respecto al conocimiento sobre la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 el 78.6 % tienen Conocimiento Medio ,7.1% Conocimiento bajo y 14.3% conocimiento alto respectivamente. Los conocimientos en las dimensiones Generalidades de la enfermedad fueron 78.6% conocimiento medio, 8.9% conocimiento bajo, 12.5% conocimiento alto respectivamente. Los conocimientos de la Dimensión complicaciones de la enfermedad fueron: 46.4% conocimiento medio, 42.9% conocimiento bajo y solo 10.7% conocimiento alto. Al determinar las actitudes preventivas sobre la Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. Los resultados fueron 98.2% de Indiferencia 1.8 % de rechazo. La conclusión: Los pobladores de la Comunidad de Vista Alegre del distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho 2024 presentan Conocimiento Medio y actitud de indiferencia ante la enfermedad Diabetes mellitus tipo 2.
