description La investigación científica se ha convertido en una competencia transversal, sus inicios ocurren desde la infancia con la indagación científica en el área de ciencia, tecnología y sociedad y se desarrollan a lo largo de todo el proceso de educación básica, alcanzan su máxima concreción en el ámbito universitario donde se generan nuevos saberes. El ejercicio de la investigación requiere pensamiento y actitud científicas, para la superación del dogmatismo y el metodologismo, cada investigación es una nueva aventura intelectual en la que el investigador debe aproximarse a la construcción teórica del objeto de estudio desde diferentes aristas, por eso, es necesaria la determinación ontológica y la estimación de la trayectoria epistemológica y metodológica para la generación o el develamiento del nuevo saber. No obstante, al no haberse transversalizado su dominio a lo largo del proceso educativo, los investigadores encuentran algunas limitaciones que dificultan el desarrollo de una investigación, las dificultades son mayores cuando se trata de investigaciones mixta e híbrida. Este libro ha sido escrito para aliviar en parte las dificultades en la ejecución de las investigaciones mixtas (mixta secuencial cuantitativa-cualitativa, mixta secuencial cualitativa-cuantitativa y mixta concurrente) e híbrida. Está dividido en 11 capítulos, ilustrados con investigaciones publicadas y otras en proceso de publicación. El interés que guía esta publicación es que quienes se dedican a las investigaciones mixta e híbrida cuenten con un material de consulta caracterizado por su utilidad.
