Para determinar los niveles de servicio en la zona comercial de Iquitos Metropolitano se usa el HIGHWAY CAPACITY MANUAL en su versión 2004, mediante puntos de conteo de vehículos o estaciones. *El análisis de la transitabilidad vehicular en la zona comercial de Iquitos metropolitano es deficiente. *Los puntos críticos son: Calle Aguirre/9 de Diciembre. Jirón Arica /9 de Diciembre. Jirón Prospero/ 9 de Diciembre. *La hora crítica o de máxima demanda es de 11:00 a 12:00 *El número de vehículos que transitan durante la hora de mayor demanda: Calle Aguirre/9 de Diciembre Jirón Arica /9 de Diciembre =1474 veh. = 1872 veh. The primary objective was to analyze vehicular traffic flow in the study area and propose a general solution to optimize the identified issue, as detailed in section 2.5 of the document. To evaluate the levels of service, the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) 2004 edition was applied, utilizing vehicle counting stations. The analysis revealed that vehicular traffic flow in this area of Metropolitan Iquitos is deficient, identifying the following critical intersections:  Calle Aguirre / 9 de Diciembre  Jirón Arica / 9 de Diciembre  Jirón Prospero / 9 de Diciembre The peak demand hour was recorded between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., with maximum traffic volumes of 1474, 1872, and 2283 vehicles, respectively, at each critical intersection. All locations were classified with a Level of Service “E,” indicating congested traffic conditions near the road capacity.
