Revisado por el profesor Ricardo Manuel Padilla Casaverde, responsable de la asignatura.La presente investigación busca analizar empíricamente el crecimiento de la economía de Portugal y el por qué es considerado uno de los “milagros” económicos, durante el periodo 1950-2019. Se toman como variables explicativas capital físico por trabajador, índice de capital humano, apertura comercial y el producto bruto interno per cápita. Se estimó un modelo por medio de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios y Vectores Autorregresivos (VAR). Los resultados son estadísticamente significativos y con el signo esperado para todas las variables dependientes. En este sentido, se encontró que durante los años estudiados Portugal se convirtió en un milagro económico debido a las políticas a largo plazo planteadas por el estado.
