Although the nature of these interactions has yet to be established, we posit that in this region the Recuay took part in long-distance exchanges without any influence of the Wari State.El presente reporte presenta los resultados de las investigaciones realizadas en Huamparán, un sitio asociado a la cultura Recuay, en la región de Conchucos. Se describe y discute el origen de dos vasijas cerámicas poco comunes halladas durante las excavaciones. Estos objetos constituyen las primeras evidencias de interacción entre la costa norte (posiblemente los gallinazo o los moche) y la sierra oriental de Áncash a inicios del Horizonte Medio (c. 500-700 d.C.).
