Objective: To describe, analyze and understand the nurse's perception of the care provided to patients with COVID-19 in the Intensive Care Unit, Chiclayo 2021. Method: The study was qualitative, with descriptive design. The population consisted of 69 ICU nurses; the sample consisted of 15 nurses of which 8 were from the Regional Hospital, 3 from the Luis Heysen Incháustegui Hospital and 4 from the Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo Hospital; the sample size was determined by convenience sampling with snowball technique. The instrument was a semi-structured interview, with prior informed consent using the ZOOM platform; the information was analyzed using the content analysis method. Ethical principles and scientific criteria were considered in the research. Main results: Three categories emerged as results: I. Describing personalized and comprehensive care to the patient with COVID-19 in the ICU; II. Prioritization of care based on the needs of the patient with COVID-19 and III. Attitudes and feelings when caring for the patient with COVID-19. Overall conclusion: Nursing care is important, personalized, demanding, demanding, thorough, dedicated and specialized, considering the patient with COVID-19 a pan-dimensional being focusing on his physical, emotional and spiritual dimension; committed to their work the nurses presented feelings of guilt, sadness, anxiety, stress and worry about contagion with positive, empathic and fighting attitudes. Source: DeCSObjetivo: Describir analizar y comprender la percepción de la enfermera sobre los cuidados brindados al paciente con COVID-19 en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, Chiclayo 2021. Método: El estudio fue de tipo cualitativa, con diseño descriptivo. La población lo conformaron 69 enfermeras de la UCI; la muestra estuvo constituida por 15 enfermeras de las cuales 8 fueron del Hospital Regional, 3 del Hospital Luis Heysen Incháustegui y 4 del Hospital Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo; el tamaño de la muestra se determinó mediante un muestreo por conveniencia con técnica de bola de nieve. El instrumento fue una entrevista semiestructurada, previo consentimiento informado mediante la plataforma Zoom; la información fue analizada utilizando el método de análisis de contenido. En la investigación se consideraron los principios éticos y criterios científicos. Resultados principales: Surgió como resultado tres categorías: I. Describiendo el cuidado personalizado e integral al paciente con COVID-19 en la UCI; II. Priorización de los cuidados basados en las necesidades del paciente con COVID-19 y III. Actitudes y sentimientos al cuidar del paciente con COVID-19. Conclusión general: Los cuidados de enfermería son importantes, personalizados, exigentes, exhaustivos, dedicados y especializados, considerando al paciente con COVID-19 un ser pandimensional enfocándose en sus dimensiones físicas, emocionales y espirituales; comprometidas con su labor las enfermeras presentaron sentimientos de culpa, tristeza, ansiedad, estrés y preocupación por el contagio con actitudes positivas, empáticas y luchadoras.
