The purpose of this article is to examine the importance of the profession of translators and interpreters in the international dissemination of Peruvian literature. Likewise, it seeks to make known the invaluable service that these professionals have offered over the years. To this end, we will analyze the tradition «El latín de una limeña», by Ricardo Palma. In order to show the great work done by those versed in languages, in the same way, we will study the main translated works of the Bibliotecario Mendigo, César Vallejo and Mario Vargas Llosa. In fact, the works of these literary figures have reached foreign lands and have been translated into several languages. Finally, we will reflect on the most frequent problems that translators have in their professional work, as well as their current relationship with technology.
