The relationship with the forms of counter-hegemony to educational neoliberalism, and the distance of educational policies from the personal dimensions of the teaching profession are discussed.Este artículo analiza las políticas de desarrollo docente en contraste con las narrativas cotidianas de tres profesores en Chile que han debido sortear eventos críticos en su docencia. Se realizó un estudio narrativo con entrevistas en dos momentos (2017 y 2021). Los resultados muestran discordancia de ambas narrativas y la escasa pertinencia de la política para la profesionalización docente.
