For its development, a qualitative approach and search tools such as Scopus, Scielo, Latindex and Google Scholar were used, as a result of the analysis it was possible to determine that the impact of the incorporation of these tools provides challenges, using a combination of ICT platforms and tools Videoconferencing offers an alternative in higher education in times of pandemic, without dependence on space, it will allow the development of learning sessions without losing the essence of face-to-face sessions and without offering disadvantages due to the technological gap since the percentages of access to ICTs are they have increased over the years to reach 98% access by Peruvian households. In conclusion, virtual education is the timely selection in the university sector to present a complete and quality teaching process in times of COVID-19.La siguiente revisión presenta un análisis de la educación universitaria virtual en Lima en el contexto de la COVID-19, los principales retos e inconvenientes en su aplicación, los beneficios que esta modalidad aporta a la educación superior, las destrezas y herramientas necesarias para su desarrollo y la probabilidad de éxito según las capacidades de la población. Para su desarrollo se empleó un enfoque cualitativo y herramientas de búsqueda como Scopus, Scielo, Latindex y Google Scholar, como resultado del análisis se pudo determinar que el impacto de la incorporación de estas herramientas proporciona desafíos, utilizar una combinación de plataformas de TIC’s y herramientas de videoconferencia ofrece una alternativa en educación superior en momentos de pandemia, sin dependencia de espacio, permitiendo desarrollar sesiones de aprendizaje sin perder la esencia de las sesiones presenciales y sin ofrecer desventajas debido a la brecha tecnológica ya que los porcentajes de acceso a las TIC’s se han incrementado a lo largo de los años hasta alcanzar un 98% de acceso por parte de los hogares peruanos.
