As theoretical basis for this analysiswere used the paradigm of complexity by Edgar Morin and the contribution of various sciences suchas sociology, medicine and psychology. Results: New mothers defined the maternity construct aroundthree central categories: lifestyle changes, feelings and perceptions. Conclusion: The majority ofthe respondent mothers have proper knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding, which is related toknowing about the definition and benefits of exclusive maternal breastfeeding and how much theyshould breastfeed their children.Objetivo: Conocer la subjetividad de una madre lactante basada en su entorno y cultura. Metodología:Diseño cualitativo, descriptivo fenomenológico. Los datos de la investigación se obtuvieron a partirdel análisis de las entrevistas administradas a madres lactantes al momento actual, entre 18 y 45residentes en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Como sustento teórico de este análisis, se utilizó el paradigmade la complejidad, de Edgar Morín y el aporte de diferentes ciencias tales como la sociología, medicinay psicología. Resultados: Las madres principiantes definieron el constructor de la maternidad en tornoa tres categorías centrales: cambios en el estilo de vida, sentimientos y las percepciones.
