So it is essenti alto evaluate the behavior of supply and demand of water for rice cultivation activity for the period between 1989 and 2007. To estimate the watersupply, we used the abstractions method of the Soil ConservationService (SCS) also known as curve number CN, which has led to obtain annual average flows. To estimate the area of rice crops and then determine the required water demand based on the surface, we used the visual analysis of satellite images using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). There sults show a progressive decrease to the total anual water supply, from 442.79 MMCto435.80 MMC between 1989 and 2007. However, it is enough to cover the total anual wáter demand for rice cultivation amounting to101.21 MMC.La presente investigación se origina debido a la preocupación de la población local, que manifiesta que en los últimos años se ha registrado una disminución progresiva de la disponibilidad del agua en el ámbito Área de Conservación Privada Copallín, afectando las actividades agrícolas en la cuenca media y baja, principalmente el cultivo de arroz. Por lo que resulta fundamental evaluar el comportamiento de la oferta y la demanda de agua para la actividad del cultivo de arroz para el periodo comprendido entre los años 1989 y 2007. Para estimar la oferta hídrica, se ha empleado el método de abstracciones de la Soil Conservation Service (SCS), también conocido como número de curva de escorrentía CN, que ha permitido obtener los caudales promedio anuales. Para estimar la superficie de cultivos de arroz y determinar posteriormente la demanda de agua requerida en función de la superficie, se ha empleado el análisis visual de imágenes de satélite Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG). Los resultados demuestran una disminución progresiva de la oferta hídrica total anual, pasando de 442.79 MMC a 435.80 MMC entre 1989 y 2007.
