This method will be improved within an operational scheme established for a systematic evaluation of forest fires on the Iberian Peninsula.La radiación solar sobre España ha sido estimada a partir de imagenes METEOSAT, usando un método físico de doble camino. Los resultados para cualquier condición de cubierta de nube se comparan con mediciones en suelo realizadas por 6 estaciones meteorológicas españolas. La precisiñón del método sobre un fichero de prueba (1110 medidas horarias para 5 dias de marzo, junio, setiembre y diciembre de 1993), en términos de error medio y cuadrático es de 6.3 W/m2 y 87.9 W/m2 (18.2%) respectivamente.
