In addition, it is proposed that in the novel there is a cynical narrator who hides information from the reader. In this way, the article affirms that the novel The predominance of faith establishes new levels of interpretation and intertextuality.El presente artículo desarrolla una lectura desde la narratología y los elementos formales de la pintura para dar cuenta de las particularidades de la novela El predominio de la fe (2020) del narrador peruano Gonzalo Portals Zubiate (Lima, 1961-2023). El trabajo establece relaciones entre las pinturas del artista barroco Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (Milán, 1571-1610) y los elementos narrativos de la novela. Además, se propone que en la novela existe un narrador cínico que le oculta información al lector.
