The design of the study is descriptive and comparative. Results: There is a difference in the cognitive dimension between urban and rural students, favoring the latter, and a greater commitment among the female rural students, whose personal qualities are more favorable to environmental conservation.El presente estudio compara las actitudes hacia la conservación del medio ambiente en escolares, según sexo y zonas de estudio, es decir urbanas y rurales de la UGEL 08 de la provincia de Cañete; en 743 escolares del nivel secundaria, a los cuales se aplicó la Escala de actitudes hacia la conservación del medio ambiente (Yarlequé, 2004), adaptado para tal fin y, demostrando la validez y confiabilidad de dicha prueba. El diseño del estudio es descriptivo comparativo.
