To this end, 15 children were selected as sample and, at the beginning of the implementation of research work, answered a pretest consisting of a test on notions of mathematical concepts such as: Notions space, the time, space, and quantification numerals, in order to determine the knowledge of these concepts and as children began Then proceeded to develop activities, which lasted one month, and at the end of which they were returned to implement the post, consisting of the same test. The results to which we arrived showed that the implementation of children's stories is better for the development of mathematical concepts in children from first grade of elementary education.El estudio estuvo dirigido a determinar el efecto de los cuentos infantiles para promover el desarrollo de conceptos matemáticos en los niños del primer grado de educación primaria del Colegio Nacional de Aplicación UNHEVAL. Para tal efecto, se seleccionaron 15 niños como muestra y, al inicio de la parte aplicativa del trabajo de investigación, se les aplicó un pretest consistente en una prueba sobre nociones de conceptos matemáticos como: Nociones espaciales, El tiempo, el espacio, cuantificadores y numerales; con el fin de determinar los conocimientos de estos conceptos y como se iniciaban los niños. A continuación se procedió a desarrollar las actividades, que tuvieron una duración de un mes, y al final del cual se les volvió a aplicar el postest, consistente en la misma prueba.
