The methodology of the present investigation was quantitative, observational and cross-sectional, whose sample was made up of 375 inhabitants, also, to answer the objectives and hypotheses, the tests were used nonparametric U of Mann Whitney and Kruskal Wallis. The showed that 57.3% of the inhabitants were between 30 and 59 years of age, 55.5% were women, 50.1% acquired antibiotics, 96% acquired alcohol, and only 27.5% received health benefits. A significant relationship was observed between total out-of-pocket expenditure (p = 0.012) and expenditure for health services (p = 0.019) with health insurance coverage. Likewise, a significant relationship was identified between total out-of-pocket spending and type of insurance (p <0.001).
