| Sumario: | The coffee berry borer (BFc) (Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari) and the coffee leaf miner (MHc) (Leucoptera coffeella Guérin-Méneville) are considered pests with a negative impact on coffee cultivation due to extrinsic environmental factors and intrinsic characteristics of the plant. This study aimed to analyze the association between temperature (T), radiation (R), precipitation (P), ambient relative humidity (HRA), and leaf water film (LAH) with the presence of BFc and MHc in coffee plants at two farms located in the districts of Villa Rica and San Luis de Shuaro, Perú. The presence of BFc and MHc was evaluated in two plots Santa Martha farm (FSM) and Santa Josefa farm (FSJ) each measuring 0.25 hectares, considering the abiotic factors T, R, P, HRA, and LAH in the study area. Stepwise analysis revealed a negative association of MHc with temperature, ambient relative humidity, and precipitation in FSJ, while in FSM it was negatively associated with ambient relative humidity and radiation. In turn, BFc was negatively associated with precipitation in FSM and with radiation and precipitation in FSJ. Under conditions of higher precipitation, radiation, temperature, and ambient relative humidity depending on the farm and the climatic variable these factors were mainly associated with decreases in BFc and MHc, with varying magnitudes between farms; it should be noted that LAH showed a positive but non-significant effect on MHc in FSJ. |
