Method. It was a study with a quantitative approach, of a prospective, analytical, cross-sectional and observational type. The sample comprised 45 students from I.E. “Matusita” of Huanuco. Prior their parents’ consent. An observation guide on the use of recyclable material and creativity was applied. It was previously validated. Hypothesis was verified using the Kendall’s Tau-b test, considering a p <= 0.05. Ethical considerations were taken into account. Results. Use of recyclable material in 68.9% (31) of the study sample was an outstanding achievement. At creativity level, 33.3% (15). It was of a good standard. By contrasting study hypotheses, a relationship was found between the variables use of recyclable material as a teaching strategy and creativity in the fluency dimension (p = 0.0419) and elaboration (p = 0.022). No relationship was found between the use of recyclable material as a teaching strategy and creativity in general (p = 0.061), creativity in the flexibility dimension (p = 0.427) and originality (p = 0.237), rejecting the research hypothesis. Conclusion. Use of recyclable material by students in the 2nd grade of Elementary School is related to fluency and collaboration dimensions of creativity. It was the reason why the research hypotheses were accepted.

Fue un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo prospectivo, analítico, transversal y observacional. La población muestral fue de 45 estudiantes de la I.E. “Matusita” de Huánuco, a quienes previo consentimiento y asentimiento de sus padres, se les aplicó una guía de observación del uso de material reciclable y de creatividad; los cuales fueron previamente validados. La comprobación de hipótesis fue mediante la prueba Tau - b de kendall, considerando un p <= 0,05. Se tuvo en cuenta las consideraciones éticas. Resultados. El uso del material reciclable, en un 68,9% (31) de la muestra en estudio fue de un logro destacado. En el nivel de creatividad, un 33,3 % (15) fue de buen nivel. Al contrastar las hipótesis del estudio, se halló relación entre las variables uso del material reciclable como estrategia didáctica y la creatividad en la dimensión fluidez (p = 0,0419) y elaboración (p = 0,022). No se halló relación entre uso de material reciclable como estrategia didáctica y la creatividad de modo general (p = 0,061), la creatividad en la dimensión flexibilidad (p = 0,427) y la originalidad (p = 0,237), rechazándose la hipótesis de investigación. Conclusión. El uso del material reciclable por los estudiantes el segundo grado de educación primaria tiene relación con las dimensiones fluidez y colaboración de la creatividad; por lo que se aceptó las hipótesis de investigación.Objetivo. Este foi um estudo quantitativo, prospectivo, analítico, transversal e observacional. A população da amostra consistia de 45 estudantes da I.E. "Matusita" de Huánuco, aos quais foi aplicado um guia de observação do uso de material reciclável e criatividade com o prévio consentimento e consentimento de seus pais; os quais foram previamente validados. Hipóteses foram testadas usando o teste tau-b da kendall, considerando um p <= 0,05. Considerações éticas foram levadas em conta. Resultados. O uso de material reciclável em 68,9% (31) da amostra do estudo foi de grande sucesso. No nível de criatividade, 33,3% (15) eram de um bom nível. Ao contrastar as hipóteses do estudo, foi encontrada uma relação entre as variáveis uso de material reciclável como estratégia didática e criatividade na dimensão da fluência (p = 0,0419) e elaboração (p = 0,022). Nenhuma relação foi encontrada entre o uso de material reciclável como estratégia didática e a criatividade em geral (p = 0,061), a criatividade na dimensão da flexibilidade (p = 0,427) e a originalidade (p = 0,237), rejeitando assim a hipótese da pesquisa. Conclusão.
