In order to create these images, Chambi resorted to those visual resources developed by flamenco painter Rembrandt in the 17th century. Through those portraits, European aesthetics where revalued in Cuzco, handing them that time's society.Este artículo analiza un documento inédito: El cuaderno personal de retratos del fotógrafo peruano Martín Chambi (1891–1973), elaborado durante su desarrollo profesional en la ciudad del Cuzco, enlre 1920 y 1970. Este cuaderno muestra las concepciones estéticas y técnicas del fotógrafo, llegando a tundir arte y documento. Para crear estas imágenes, Chambi recurrió a recursos visuales desarrollados por el pintor flamenco Rembrant en el siglo XVII. A través del retrato realizado por Chambi, se revaloró en Cuzco una estética europea poniéndola al servicio de la sociedad de la época.Universidad de Piura.
