Un siglo y medio después de Cajamarca, las aspiraciones nativas se cristalizan en torno a la figura del Inca.Manuel Burga intends to trace the traces of the Hispanic Conquest in the collective mentalities of Peru yesterday and today. By re-interrogating the dramatic encounter in Cajamarca, he seeks to detect new echoes that would have gone unnoticed by a somewhat lengthy historiography of the Conquest. There is no living past in a future project that gives it meaning.
