The research problem is related to the persecution of the Inquisition against the new Christians accusing them of Judaizing and the punishment they received. Forty were condemned to the galleys in Spain; when they arrived in Cartagena, they evaded the authorities. The article relies conceptually and methodologically on microhistory and highlights the historiographic narrativeto transmit knowledge.Los judeoconversos portugueses que se asentaron en el virreinato del Perú se dedicaron al comercio de esclavizados, mercaderías y actividades artesanales. El tribunal de la Inquisición, con el pretexto de conservar el cristianismo, les prosiguieron causas de fe. Esta premisa se enlazó con la necesidad de fondos para el funcionamiento de la institución, la crisis entre España y Portugal y el miedo de aliarse con el enemigo holandés. El problema de investigación está relacionado con la persecución de la Inquisición contra los cristianos nuevos acusándolos de judaizar y el castigo que recibieron. Cuarenta fueron condenados a galeras en España, al llegar a Cartagena evadieron a las autoridades.
