Although features of artificial underground channels are found in the Huatanay Valley, the connection between Coricocha and the Tambo Machay channel is neither natural nor artificial. There is simply no connection.Mi interés en el uso del agua subterránea para la irrigación en el Cusco me condujo a investigar el contexto en el cual se trata de este asunto en los Andes. Se dice que el agua para el canal de Tambo Machay proviene del lago Coricocha por medio de un canal subterráneo que construyeron los Incas, este lago también se considera la fuente de agua para varios otros ríos y sistemas de regadío. Aunque se encuentran rasgos de canales subterráneos artificiales en el valle de Huatanay, la conexión entre Coricocha y el canal de Tambo Machay no es ni natural ni artificial.
