Descripción
Sumario:This article examines the transformation of communication in the field of international relations, foreign policy, and diplomacy, moving from institutional and one-way approaches toward strategic, digital, and people-centered models. It analyzes how this evolution has led to a more participatory, emotionally intelligent form of public diplomacy, oriented toward dialogue with global audiences. Through a theoretical review, it explores the main approaches and dimensions of public diplomacy, its connection with soft power, and its adaptation to the digital environment through tools such as big data, bidirectionality, and emotional intelligence. The growing role of social media is highlighted in building genuine connections and promoting the international projection of national interests. In the case of Peru, a vision of digital public diplomacy is proposed that articulates identity, image, and institutional reputation, strengthening a coherent narrative from the State to the world. Digital public diplomacy is thus presented as an essential function of foreign affairs, capable of connecting the country’s history, values, and aspirations with a dynamic and interconnected international environment.
