Employing a qualitative approach and drawing on Pierre Bourdieu’s methodology of the field of knowledge, a systematic documentary review was carried out. The analysis identified two main categories of work: Within the academy and Outside the academy, each further subdivided to provide a nuanced examination of the strengths and weaknesses of the reviewed studies. The findings highlight significant gaps and challenges in the field. The paper concludes by emphasizing the urgent need for more inclusive and diversified public policies to address persistent educational inequalities in rural areas.El presente artículo es un estado del arte sobre la educación superior rural en Colombia, que abarca trabajos académicos realizados entre 2015 y 2023. Desde un enfoque cualitativo, basado en la metodología de campos de saber de Pierre Bourdieu, se realizó una revisión documental sistemática. La revisión permitió identificar dos grandes grupos de trabajo con sus propias subdivisiones: Dentro de la Academia y Fuera de la Academia. Cada grupo cuenta con un análisis detallado de las virtudes y falencias de los estudios revisados. Finalmente, se presentan con-clusiones que sugieren la necesidad de políticas públicas más inclusivas y diversificadas para abordar las desigualdades educativas en las zonas rurales.Este artigo apresenta um estado da arte sobre a educação superior rural na Colômbia, abrangendo produções acadêmicas realizadas entre 2015 e 2023. Com base em uma abordagem qualitativa e inspirando-se na metodologia dos campos do saber proposta por Pierre Bourdieu, foi realizada uma revisão documental sistemática. A análise identificou dois grandes grupos de estudos, cada um com suas respectivas subdivisões: Dentro da academia e Fora da academia. Cada grupo oferece uma análise detalhada das fortalezas e fragilidades dos trabalhos revisados.
