Its manifestations have been incorporated in criminal laws with high penalties, through the classification of crimes of abstract danger; in procedural rules, through alternative ways out of the process and in criminal prosecution, abandoning the logic of case by case, to conduct prospective investigations, identifying crime hotspots to reduce them through strategies adopted by the prosecution and the police. This paper describes these ideas and applies them to a real case of vehicle theft, thus proving their concrete results in crime reduction statistics in the city of Huánuco.El control del delito, en la actualidad, se realiza bajo el enfoque del actuarialismo punitivo, que privilegia los medios antes que la finalidad, y utiliza la lógica del mercado. Sus manifestaciones se han incorporado en las leyes penales con penas altas, por medio de la tipificación de delitos de peligro abstracto; en las normas procesales, mediante las salidas alternativas al proceso; y en la persecución penal, abandonando la lógica del caso por caso, para realizar investigaciones prospectivas, identificando los focos delictivos para reducirlos a través de estrategias adoptadas por la fiscalía y la policía. El presente trabajo describe estas ideas y las aplica a un caso real de hurto de vehículos; se comprueban así sus resultados concretos en la estadística de reducción del delito en la ciudad de Huánuco.O controle da criminalidade é atualmente realizado sob a abordagem do atuarialismo punitivo, que privilegia os meios em detrimento dos fins e utiliza a lógica do mercado. Suas manifestações foram incorporadas em leis penais com penas elevadas, por meio da classificação de crimes de perigo abstrato; em normas processuais, por meio de alternativas à acusação; e na persecução penal, abandonando a lógica do caso a caso, para realizar investigações prospectivas, identificando focos de crime a fim de reduzilos por meio de estratégias adotadas pelo Ministério Público e pela polícia.
