The population consisted of 60 initial education teachers. The survey technique was applied for both variables and as instruments two questionnaires, validated and reliable. The instrument that measures the variable: Institutional pedagogical monitoring presents a reliability index of .864 and the one that measures the variable Quality of teaching performance has an index of .788, measured with Cronbach's alpha. The results of the research report a statistically positive and significant relationship between institutional pedagogical monitoring and the quality of teaching performance, in a 95% confidence interval. Likewise, significant positive relationships were found between the pedagogical use of time, the use of pedagogical tools, the use of teaching materials and resources, and the management of the school climate with the quality of teaching performance.La presente investigación tiene por finalidad determinar la relación existente entre el monitoreo pedagógico institucional y la calidad del desempeño docente en instituciones educativas. Es una investigación que corresponde al paradigma Positivista, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico, nivel descriptivo y diseño correlacional. La población estuvo conformada por 60 docentes de educación inicial. Se aplicó la técnica de la encuesta para ambas variables y como instrumentos dos cuestionarios, validados y confiables. El instrumento que mide la variable: Monitoreo pedagógico institucional presenta un índice de fiabilidad de .864 y el que mide la variable Calidad del desempeño docente tiene un índice de .788, medidos con el alfa de Cronbach. Los resultados de la investigación reportan una relación estadísticamente positiva y significativa entre el monitoreo pedagógico institucional y la calidad del desempeño docente, en un intervalo de confianza del 95%.
