Chaney. The role of the image of the urban subaltern woman and the inter-ethnic relations resulting from the current socio-political scenario in which the city is circumscribed are investigated. With this, the approximations and contradictions between the represented and the official photographic narrative are explored, as well as its representation of the reference to visual memories and what the receivers know or do not know as part of identity memories under construction. Locked up, in a fence that Mabel Moraña describes as peripheral capitalism from its violent founding through today’s times of the pandemic they illustrate how globalization has established itself, stripping immigrant working women of their rights.Mi corpus de análisis consiste en los trabajos de fotografía de Ellan Young en la obra Seller and Servants, Working Women in Lima, Perú (1989) de Ximena Bunster y Elsa M. Chaney. Se investiga el rol de la imagen de la mujer subalterna urbana y las relaciones interétnicas resultantes del actual escenario sociopolítico en que se circunscribe la ciudad. Con ello, se exploran las aproximaciones y contradicciones entre la narrativa fotográfica representada y la oficial, así como su representación del referente a memorias visuales y lo que los receptores conocen o desconocen como parte de memorias identitarias en construcción.
