La propuesta de la presente investigación es estimar esta relación a través de la Curva de Kuznets Ambiental (CKA) en base al indicador de Consumo Doméstico Material (CDM). La hipótesis que propone la CKA es que a medida que aumenta el desarrollo económico existirá un punto en el que la presión ambiental descenderá. Este estudio utiliza el CDM porque es un indicador de presión ambiental que aproxima la cantidad de uso de recursos naturales que son transformados en una economía. Luego de estimar la relación para el período 1970-2015, se concluye que la relación entre los ingresos y la contaminación ambiental aun es positiva debido a la estructura primario exportadora y de servicios de la economía peruana.

Nevertheless, in Peru there is little empirical evidence at the country level regarding this issue. The proposal of the present investigation is to estimate this relationship through the Environmental Kuznets Curve (CKA) based on the Domestic Material Consumption (CDM) indicator. The hypothesis proposed by the CKA is that as economic development increases, there will be a point at which the environmental pressure will decrease. This study uses the CDM because it is an indicator of environmental pressure that approximates the amount of use of natural resources that are transformed into an economy.
