description El corredor Paratía-Ocuviri se ubica en el límite de la Cordillera Occidental y el Altiplano, en el Sur del Perú (Puno), y se caracteriza por estar constituido por unidades volcánicas cenozoicas y presentar numerosas manifestaciones minerales, algunas de estas explotadas por plata desde épocas pre-hispánicas (Klinck et al., 1986). Sin embargo la zona sólo presenta trabajos a nivel regional (Klinck et al., 1984; Fletcher et al., 1989), donde la relación estructuras-centros volcánicos-depósitos minerales es poco clara. El presente trabajo, enmarcado en el Proyecto GR-13: “Geología de la Cordillera Occidental del Sur del Perú y su relación con los depósitos minerales”, se basa en el cartografiado geológico-estructural de la zona y el tratamiento de datos de microtectónica en estrías de fallas, con los que se describirá los principales rasgos estructurales que controlan el emplazamiento de centros volcánicos y sus depósitos minerales asociados en el Corredor Paratía-Ocuviri.
