Gerencia Departamental LambayequeLa bomba manual peridural, consiste en un dispositivo formado por tres partes descartables de diferentes equipos, diseñados y usados para cumplir otras funciones, pero que armados constituyen un dispositivo manual nuevo para el tratamiento del dolor. El propósito del presente estudio fue evaluar la eficacia del uso de la bomba manual peridural controlada por el propio paciente como técnica de analgesia en el tratamiento del dolor agudo post operatorio. El trabajo se realizó en el Hospital Nacional "Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo" EsSalud -Chiclayo, con un total de 73 pacientes del servicio de ginecología durante los meses de agosto del 2000 a febrero del 2001, sometidas a cirugía mayor y electivas. No hubo diferencias significativas en lo que respecta a edad, tipo de ASA, cirugía y de anestesia administrada. En los resultados encontramos que al utilizar la bomba manual peridural hubo una disminución del dolor postoperatorio con una Escala Visual Análoga (EVA) 111enor de 4, con una diferencia altamente significativa (P<0.001). Se concluye que la analgesia por PCA usando la bomba manual peridural es una técnica nueva, sencilla y altamente eficaz para el manejo del dolor agudo postoperatorio por su fácil uso, no complicado, tanto para el paciente como para el programador, de bajo costo ya que es confeccionada con material fungible y liviano; y está al alcance de cualquier centro hospitalario.The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness use of a peridural manual bomb as analgesia control/ed technique by the own patient (PCA) in the treatment of the postoperative acute pain. This study was carried out between August 2000 and February 2001 in the EsSalud National Hospital "Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo" al Chiclayo, in 73 patients from the Gynecology service, subjected to main surgery and electives. There were not significant differences in to age, type of ASA, surgery and anesthesia. In the results we find that when using the peridural manual bomb there was a decrease of the postoperative pain with an Analog Visual Sea/e (EVA) smaller than 4, with a highly significant difference (P < 0.001).
