Sumario:Objective: This research aimed to determine the association between the States of identity and behavioraladaptation in college students of a private University in East Lima. The sample was formed by 187 students.Methods: The Applied instruments were the Ego Identity Process Questionnaire (EIPQ), prepared by Balistreri,Busch and Geisinger (1995) and the adaptation inventory of conduct (IAC), adapted in Lima by Ruiz (1995).Results: In the results we found that there is association between the States of identity and behavioral adaptation(X 2 = 23 050, p = 0.001) in college students of a private University in East Lima. Conclusions: It is concludedthat a proper state of identity (identity achievement) is associated with a successful behavioral adaptation.
