El presente trabajo de investigación comprende el desarrollo de una unidad de control de alarma contra incendio para la mejora del sistema de detección de incendio existente en una planta de envasado de gas licuado de petróleo (GLP) con el fin de prevenir la posibilidad de incendio, o reducir la magnitud de los daños. En primer lugar, se realizó un listado de componentes del sistema contra incendio existente, determinándose que no cumple con la normativa local, representada por OSINERGMIN (Organismo Supervisor de la Inversión en Energía y Minería) e internacional, liderada por la NFPA (Asociación Nacional de Protección contra el Fuego).
