Oral implantology is the discipline that has revolutionized dentistry, and it is of crucial importance to carry out a practice applying clinical procedures based on scientific evidence. Likewise, multiple protocols and consensuses have been developed. That is why success lies in performing an adequate preoperative analysis (clinical and tomographic), applying solid theoretical bases and evaluating risks in each case to carry out predictable and successful treatments. This review synthesizes the indications, surgical aspects and recommendations for installation and loading times; as well as the considerations for the management of provisional restorations in oral implantology. Four times have been established for the placement of dental implants: Immediate (implant type 1), early (implants type 2 and 3) and late (implant type 4) and three times for the loading of dental implants: Immedi...

The oral rehabilitation of periodontally compromised patients present a clinical challenges because takes many sensible steps, especially the patient's commitment to perform a maintenance plan. Therefore, in order to achieve the expected results, a multidisciplinary treatment involving specialties that work under a coordinated treatment plan is essential. The introduction of dental implants has provided benefits to leading to improving the quality of life and the satisfaction of the patient. In the present article a clinical case of a periodontal compromised patient is related, treatment and follow-up for six years to the success of such treatment an implant supported rehabilitation type hybrid prosthesis in the maxilla and crowns cemented on implants in the lower jaw is reported following a protocol that provides us with adequate treatment predictability and high patient satisfaction.

Resection of vestibular exostoses and mandibular tori as a key pre-prosthetic procedure for optimal edentulous rehabilitation. This article reports a case involving the resection of a mandibular torus and vestibular exostoses, emphasizing the use of a 3D-printed surgical guide for enhanced precision. A 49-year-old female patient diagnosed with mandibular tori and vestibular exostoses in the edentulous mandibular region underwent pre-prosthetic surgical treatment. The procedure involved the resection of the mandibular torus and vestibular exostoses, guided by virtual planning. Customized mandibular cutting guides, fabricated using acrylic resin, facilitated precise osteotomy. The use of these patient-specific surgical guides resulted in: reduced surgical time, minimally invasive approach, improved postoperative recovery, preserved mandibular symmetry and fewer surgical complications. At t...
