Se realizó un estudio transversal con el objetivo de evaluar los conocimientos relacionados a las practicas que tienen los familiares de pacientes con fisura labio palatina que acudieron al Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, a través de un cuestionario de preguntas aplicado antes de recibir atención en el consultorio médico de Cirugía Plástica. La muestra estuvo representada por 80 cuestionarios efectuados en el período de 3 meses. Obtuvimos como resultado que la mayoría de los familiares de pacientes con fisura labiopalatina tienen conocimientos bajos a cerca de los problemas de los niños y estos están relacionados con prácticas inadecuadas. This article starts from the recognition of epistemic valuation standards in scientific researchpractices, both in the stage of normal science and in the stage of scientific revolution according toThomas Kuhn, showing not only relations of axioms, methods and technics, but also relations ofobjectives, interests and values. Intervening epistemic values are classified and studied in orderto set their corresponding justification based on Kuhn’s epistemological considerations, whopresents the values within the context of evaluation and selection of the best scientific theory forthe construction of relevant scientific knowledge.

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the program “Sweet and healthy life” in the knowledge andpractices of self-care in adult patients with Diabetes Mellitus at the Primary Care Center III - Huaycán.Materials and Methods: Quasi experimental design, longitudinal section.
