In manufacturing processes, there are conditions that continually impact decision-making among when choosing among alternatives; the selection is usually influenced by critical aspects such as quality, productivity, costs and customer feedback, among others. This article analyzes different adhesives for the process of gluing parts for sports shoes in a company located in the city of Purisima del Rincon in Guanajuato, México. The analysis employs statistical engineering tools and an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology. The case studied deals with an issue with gluing parts. The glue currently employed is of good quality but has drawbacks such as its high cost and thickness, which leads to a time-consuming manual application, affecting productivity. We propose and apply an AHP model with input information obtained by means of industrial experimentation in order to select the best...

Objective: to know if the breakeven impacts in the financial decision making of the publishing companies in Lima. Method: basic type research, sample constituted by 32 general managers of small and medium enterprises dedicated to the publishing sector in Lima, to whom they applied a survey in order to validate or reject the hypothesis formulated by the author, this being the application breakeven will have a positive impact on the financial decision-making of the publishing companies in Lima. Results: through Fisher's exact test (p.-5%), the value of 0,713 was obtained as p-value, which is greater than the value of 0,05, which is the used for the 95% confidence level, therefore, the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is accepted. Conclusions: there is a relationship between breakeven and decision making, which positively influences the financial decision making of the publishing compa...

Despite the need for scientific research in psychology to solve the different psychosocial problems of the country (family violence and corruption, for example), studies in this area are not still enough. One of the ways to encourage research is by doing a thesis. However, many students opt for other types of jobs for that purpose. The objective of the study is to identify, describe and explain those factors that influence the undergraduate Psychology students’ decision to do or not a thesis in order to obtain the professional degree. A qualitative methodology and the Grounded Theory design were used. We conducted 7 individual interviews and 2 focus groups of a total of 28 university students (20 women and 8 men), living in the city of Lima, 2 of them from public universities and 3 of them from private universities and who were in the last semesters of the Psychology specialty. The res...

Introduction: Making fair coverage decisions by allocating limited resources implies prioritization. Given the pandemic, this is even more difficult, given the economic recession and the need to cope with new demands for health technologies, in addition to the rest of the needs of the health system. Health Technology Assessment and the regulation of drug prices are two strategies recommended by WHO-PAHO to increase the efficiency and equity of health systems. We analize the budget impact and opportunity cost of spinraza, a high-cost drug that would be effective in increasing the survival of patients with a rare disease named Type I Spinal Muscular Atrophy. In Argentina, it is covered without price regulation, paying three times more expensive than in Brazil, although a National Health Technology Assessment did not recommend this. Methods: The opportunity cost of spinraza for Spinal Muscu...

The decision-making process is a key element within many fields. Rationality is a theoretical framework to understand that social and economic behavior which contributes to better decisional processes. This role of rationality generates expectations from the stakeholders of the decisional process, one of which is refers to the need of including ethical criteria within the decisional process itself. This essay explores both the concept of rationality, as well as its types, in order to evaluate the extent to which ethical criteria should be part of said process. In doing this, the concepts of minimal instrumental rationality and ethics are analyzed, setting the stage for a discussion of common fields and roles in relation to both available knowledge before the decision-making, and reasoning, derived actions, and consequences. This essay concludes that rationality and ethics share much duri...

The purpose of this investigation is to conduct an analysis of the influence of information technologies (ICTs) and production processes in organizations in the industrial sector in the state of Tamaulipas during times of COVID-19. The study evaluated the municipalities of Tampico, Altamira and Reynosa. The research instrument was applied to managers and directors of different organizations, producing a total of 45 interviews and employing the partial least squares (PLS) regression technique for data analysis. The Omega McDonald index and Dillon-Goldstein’s RHO were employed to assess the instrument’s confidence level. The results indicate that the intervention new information technologies (ICTs) as tools for innovation and competitiveness in the labor market contributed as much as nearly 84 %.

Knowledge translation (KT) in Public Health involves the use of scientific evidence by decision makers when generating health policies directed to accelerate the benefits resulting from research and innovation in health system and ultimately people´s health. In this paper we review the definitions and conceptual frameworks related to systematization of KT processes. The different approaches to KT share the concept that KT is composed by two main elements: a product (information) developed through scientific method with a friendly format for the target public and an action devoted to support or promote a health related practice using the aforementioned product. The understanding and application of KT is a key element for effective use of knowledge in decision making.

The Peruvian legal system includes two autonomous institutions: the National Election Jury and the Constitutional Court. However, the Act 28642, approved by the Peruvian Parliament and supported by the electoral entity, prevents constitutional processes from being initiated against decisions made by the latter. The author suggests that this situation could lead to scenarios of autarchy, where the JNE acts without supervision, what affects the balance between powers. In this framework, the author proposes analyzing the problem from the general theory of constitutionally autonomous agencies. This paper aims to establish that although agencies are autonomous, they cannot remain completely disconnected from each other. Therefore, mechanisms must be created to allow for a relationship between them while avoiding autarkic scenarios without control.

The balanced scorecard is a decision-making management tool. It allows the translation of the organization’s strategy into specific objectives and their evaluation by different indicators. The lack of control indicators in the various perspectives’ limits management capacity in ARPAZ Co. Therefore, applying the balanced scorecard as a management tool is necessary. We started by diagnosing the organizational structure of the company, its processes, and its decision-making. The application stages were defined in terms of financial, customer, process, training, and growth perspectives. Then we proceeded to define the indicators for the key decision-making processes and how to measure the efficiency of the strategies in the organization. Finally, several internal processes were promoted to obtain better results derived from decision[1]making. Based on the deficiencies in business managem...
