It describes the transition from the newsjacking technique to becoming the viraljacking technique, which consists of using events related to audiovisual productions, musical themes, and occurrences, most of which are covered by journalism. The technique arises due to the persistence of these events over time and their level of trendiness on social media. This research takes a qualitative approach, basing its analysis on the Theory of Advertising Appeals and Needs, identifying the characteristics of the advertising format and the use of visual rhetorical figures. The case study focuses on the series ‘Squid Game’ due to its popularity on social media, aiming to understand the perceptions of Peruvian consumers based on their experience with viraljacking. This research explores the use of Facebook as a corporate communications channel of Peruvian universities. The study aims to find out which communication elements generate the greatest interaction. To this end, content analysis is carried out, which allows to detect communicative actions, formats, themes and emotional links that lead to greater participation of audiences in this social network. This methodology is complemented by a qualitative analysis of the most relevant posts. Results show that content valued most by the public seeks to educate and inspire with the results of research and scientific innovation and through audiovisual formats, appealing to a sense of pride of the community.

This article arises from the interrelation of different theoretical and methodological perspectives in the areas of Communication and Anthropology in order to analyze the media treatment of the situation of indigenous peoples in Argentine territory. To do this, theoretical concepts of the Agenda Setting theory were operationalized and a content analysis was developed from the collection of journalistic articles from the most far-reaching online information portals in Argentina, in the period from August 2018 to June, 2019. The conclusions show: a low information coverage on the subject; the construction and reproduction of meanings and representations around native peoples linked to the reinforcement of stereotypes and prejudices; and little opportunity for them to be actors and sources of information.
