The association between nine philosophical referents of happiness and well-being was examined in a convenience sample (n= 1060) of two Chilean cities. Participants had to choose one referent and respond to well-being, satisfaction, and happiness scales regarding family, friends, work, and leisure. A lower educational level was associated more with the referents Tranquility and Stoicism and less with the realization of capabilities. Young people ascribe more to the referents Satisfaction and Carpe Diem. Multiple hierarchical regressions considering well-being as a predicted variable showed that the Satisfaction and Affiliation referents were associated with greater psychological well-being. These results and the differences between the happiness referents chosen according to the controlled variables are discussed.

The determinants of spread are internal variables of each bank, market variables and macroeconomic variables. The behavior of each of these variables on spreads, can determine the efficiency of the financial system. To establish the relationship-specific data are used a number of banks in the market and perform regressions, according to the characteristics of these To determine the regressions used the fixed effects model and random effects model and generalized least square (GLS). The paper shows that Chile has an inefficient banking market, due to its monopolistic tendencies. While this inefficiency does not create competitive disadvantages worldwide, generates an extra charge for local customers

Introduction: The article aims to unveil the way in which the CRUCH (Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities) universities are training their future teachers in the field of educational inclusion, for which the training itineraries and graduation profiles of the different pedagogies taught by these study houses present in its institutional web pages. From the methodological point of view, the research ascribes to a qualitative approach with a multiple-case design, taking into account the multiplicity of analysis units made up of the different study houses. For the production of information, the analysis of documents from the Internet was used, which in turn were analyzed through content analysis. Among the main findings, it stands out that, although most of the universities under study incorporated subjects related to inclusion, they are mainly focused on the attention of SEN (Special...

Through this study, the performance of cooperative entities in Chile regarding accountability, specifically in the practices of financial report publication, has been assessed. The study focuses on the so-called economically significant cooperatives, employing a mixed research method that combines techniques from qualitative research such as documentary analysis and interviews, along with quantitative research techniques involving the construction of compliance indicators related to accountability. The research spans a period of eight years, from 2015 to 2022. The main finding of the study is that, despite the considerable dynamism in Chile’s institutional framework regulating and promoting cooperative sector activities since 2013, cooperatives exhibit a low level of compliance in terms of publishing their financial statements.

The article analyzes how the discourses and demands of actors involved in agricultural activities in the Coquimbo Region (Chile), among the peasant organizations, trade associations of medium-sized and large producers and public organizations, reflect different views and tensions regarding water scarcity product of the decrease in precipitations and the system of access and distribution of water for irrigation. Using elements of political ecology and discourse analysis, we seek to understand how actors elaborate their discourses on water scarcity and how they adapt other discourses on the topic based on their own interests. The article concludes that, although there are common elements and concepts in all discourses, these reflect different demands and tensions among local producers, and between them and public services. In the case of peasant organizations, water scarcity is addressed a...

The Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), developed in the early 1960s, is still today the main model for estimating the performance required for a financial asset by a well-diversified investor. The estimation of its main variables, the return of the risk-free asset and, to a greater extent, the premium for the expected risk of the market portfolio, have been the subject of much controversy and debate, particularly when it comes to estimating them for emerging markets. This paper reviews the existing literature related to the estimation of the premium for expected risk, also known as risk premium, both in general terms, and as applied to emerging markets, in order to formulate and suggest an estimated value of such variable for the case of Chile.
