This paper analyses concessive resources with a mitigating function which are found in argumentative acts in the PRESEEA corpus from Santiago, Chile. Based on data from 36 semi-structured interviews, the behaviour of concessive-oppositional moves and concessive discourse particles in argumentative acts is analyzed, and their sociolinguistic variation is described in relation to the speakers’ gender, age and level of education. The key findings highlight that in Chilean Spanish there are at least 12 strategies that fulfill a mitigating concessive function, among which “sí, pero (yes, but) + negation”, “aunque (even though)”, “no, pero (no, but) + assertion” and “a pesar (de) que (despite the fact that)” stand out. We presented a generalization of the delay-and-sum beamforming based on the Dirac-Delta functions but with nonlinear argument. For this end, a closed-form expression of the beampattern mathcal{B}(r)=\sum\nolimits-{k,q}w(k,q,r)x(k,q,r) with r = r(θ), was derived. This expression is computationally simulated through an algorithm that includes integer-order Bessel input functions and random noise. The 4M+N model parameters provided by the Dirac-Delta method are extracted by using a Monte-Carlo-like step which selects the best values for B(r) minimizing the Monte-Carlo error for Δθ = 0.5% for the case of beam response of θ0=30 degrees. These results might sustain the fact that beamforming techniques can use Dirac-Delta functions for modeling arrival signal even in those cases where strong nonlinearity is involved.

Teleosemantic is the theory that proposes an explanation of mental representation on the basis of the Darwinian theory of biological function. Although Darwin explains biological traits for both historical and adaptationist causes, Papineau and other proponents of teleosemantic rely only on the adaptationist dimension of the theory to account for the identity of the biological trait. This is shown in the teleosemantic response to the possibility that an exact duplicate of a human arose from non-evolutionary causes (the swampman). “The objective of the research was to evaluate the consistency of different training proposals, proposing as a reference a competency-based curriculum planning model. Qualitative methodology was used from an interpretive paradigm, making use of inductive and deductive analysis at the same time. Inductively, observations were generated through documentary analysis, interviews with experts, and a focus group with university professors, who then deductively derived interpretations and forecasts regarding curricular planning. As a result, it was obtained that the designed model, based on the triangulation of the information collected, allowed evaluating and determining the strengths and weaknesses of the priority elements of the university curriculum: the graduation profile, the study plan and the evaluation system. ABSTRACT In this paper a nonlinear mathematical model based at convolution theory and translated in terms of Machine Learning philosophy is presented. In essence, peaks functions are assumed as the pattern of rate of infections at large cities. This paper aims to explore the functions of the theory of legal argumentation (TLA) on Constitutional States and will especially focus on the political and self-reflective functions of the TLA within the framework of a neo-constitutionalistic legal theory. The first part of the paper includes a definition of the TAL and an analysis of its main functions. The study of the complex ultracellular processes of nucleic acids is a subject debated as a scientific argument in favor of Intelligent Design (ID). The objective of this work was to analyze some molecular processes of the nucleic acids that suggest the confirmation of the ID theory, through the technique of documentary content analysis. First, the chemical structure of DNA and the combination of nitrogenous bases reflects that the genetic information of each created being is an original mixture of nitrogenous bases that makes each individual unique in the history of the world. On April 2, 1982, the Malvinas War began, in which Argentina confronted the United Kingdom to recover the Malvinas Islands. It occurred within the framework of the last military dictatorship, so that the dictatorship and the war are intertwined in social memory (Guber, 2001; Lorenz, 2009). The objective is to study the discursive representation of the war in personal letters written on the battle front in order to make the voice of the soldiers visible. We focus, in particular, on the available meanings activated by the protagonists in relation to their participation in the conflict. The mechanical behavior of advanced composites can be modeled mathematically through unknown variables and Shear Strain Thickness Functions (SSTFs). Such SSTFs can be of polynomial or non-polynomial nature and some parameters of non-polynomial SSTFs can be optimized to get optimal results. In this paper, these parameters are called “r” and “s” and they are the argument of the trigonometric SSTFs introduced within the Carrera Unified Formulation (CUF). The answer to this question was not always important in the history of the penal doctrine, because only from the work of Claus Roxin was renewed the debate on this type of crimes. The different positions in discussion take their arguments back to the very same concept of a punishable act, whether it is understood as the injury of an interest or as the injury to the validity of the rule.
