Starting with a reflection on three questions that help define its nature, the author offers an account of the state of bilateral relations between Peru and the United Kingdom in the year 2025. To this end, he combines three central elements: the content of the bilateral agenda, their national interests and, based on these, their shared interests, and the nature of the engagement between the two countries, all of which leads him to offer an assessment of these bilateral relations at present.

The text analyzes the constitutional evolution of abortion in the United States, highlighting the change initiated with Griswold v. Connecticut (1965), where the Supreme Court recognized a “right to privacy” not explicit in the Constitution. It is argued that this doctrine was the basis for the Roe v. Wade decision (1973), where it was established that a woman's right to have an abortion is part of that right to privacy, subordinating the protection of the fetus until viability (last trimester). In this line, the Court affirmed that the fetus is not a constitutionally protected “person” and that the rights of the unborn ‘child’ (seen as “potential life”) are always inferior to those of the mother. On the other hand, the author compares Roe v. Wade with the Dred Scott case (1857), which also denied rights to a human group - African Americans - asserting that both rulings e...

The crisis of the presidential succession in Nicaragua between 1926 and 1927 was an opportunity for the revolutionary regime of Mexico led by Plutarco Elías Calles to recover the influence of the country in Central America. This action particularly involved a political, diplomatic and even military confrontation with the United States of America, a country with which it had to compete for the recognition of the constitutional legitimacy of the vice-presidency of the liberal Juan B. Sacasa, overthrown by the coup d’état of General Emiliano Chamorro. We analyze the political motivations of the Calles government and the diplomatic and military capacity of his government to intervene in this conflict of an international nature but which ventilated, at the same time, the tensions that the Mexican country had against the economic and political interests of the United States.

We are currently witnessing a crisis in the international liberal order, a system that has governed relationships among global actors for nearly eight decades. This order has been built upon key principles such as economic openness, multilateralism, security cooperation, and democratic solidarity. Originating as a framework largely confined to the Western world during the Cold War era, it has since become the dominant global paradigm following the events of 1991. The establishment of the United States as a major power played a pivotal role in shaping this order, along with its leadership in constructing governance institutions in collaboration with other liberal democracies. This article aims to analyze the evolution of the international liberal order, focusing on the various stages of its development. By examining the foreign policy and exercise of power by the United States, we seek to...

According to a novel theory, latitude influences complex cognitive ability through hormonal and dopaminergic effects of UVB radiation on family size and study habits. Since human exposure to UVB radiation increases from East to West in the United States, longitude can be expected to influence White children's math and, especially, reading scores. Analyses of National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) State data showed greater effects of longitude on Reading than Math and a decay of influence from 4th to 8th grades; latitude's influence was analogous on Math and Reading and increased across grades. The findings are consistent with the theory that, in the United States, longitude influences cognitive abilities through parents' sexual hormones, family size and early in life; they also suggest that latitude exerts influence mainly through dopamine deficiency and study habits and cumu...

This article analyzes the repercussions on journalistic activity of the regulatory measures adopted by the United States and Europe to protect privacy in the use of drones. Similarities and differences between the adopted regulations are evaluated. It is observed that in the United States recommendations are generally chosen, in which drone user´s willingness prevails over third parties´ right to privacy. However, there are exceptions, such as the cases of the states of Texas and California, where the use of drones without proper authorization is considered a violation of the right to privacy. In Europe, the regulations are applicable to all member countries, and the system provides more guarantees, considering the principles of necessity and transparency.

The creation of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) in 2008 seemed to encourage the formation of an alternative regional order to the inter-American system led by the United States. This project emerged in a context characterized by the failure of the FTAA, Brazil's international projection and the strength of South American countries to face the global economic crisis. Such conditions led to the diffusion of post-hegemonic readings to understand the regionalization of South America. Nowadays, however, the quest for regional autonomy is limited both by domestic and regional factors and by systemic forces involved in shaping new regional orders. As part of its nearest influence zone, United States has vital interests in South America that may collide with projects of regional autonomy. Given this context, it is necessary to review how the US hegemony has evolved in the region and ...

This article develops a business plan to introduce giant squid in markets in the United States in the form of breaded seafood. The added value that local processing gives to the resource is determinant for obtaining higher prices, as compared to those being paid for squid as raw material, and for entering international markets for fi nished products. The proposed model covers the marketing plan, operations strategies and economic evaluation; the last one shows the economic results expected and the generated profi ts. The article ends by pointing out the critical factors of the business plan: the characteristics of the demand in the destination market and the supply of raw material.

This paper seeks to analyze the geopolitical causes of the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (TLCAN / NAFTA) until the generation of the new United States Mexico Canada Agreement (T-MEC / USMCA). We consider that the advance of China within the supply chains that enter the geographic area of North America, the existing asymmetries in the productive structures of Mexico and its two northern partners, as well as the new protectionist tendencies in the United States generated the conditions for the renegotiation of the agreement, which creates incentives to prioritize the production of industrial material within the USMCA space against competition from Chinese products. We will do a discussion about the favorable and unfavorable aspects for the implementation of the new agreement and the new perspectives on its possible impact on the automotive industry, which was one...

This article explores how racism, gender discrimination, and hypersexualization affected indigenous women in viceregal Peru, using Clorinda Matto de Turner’s novel Aves sin nido as a basis. Similarly, it is analyzed how these same factors also affected AfricanAmerican women in the United States during the time of slavery. In both cases, it is argued that the idea of racial behavior reinforces the repression of women who represent the minority in their respective countries.

Within the framework of the process of constitutionalization of Law, the treatment towards antitrust  regulation is being discussed on the jurisprudential level.
