The purpose of the work will be to identify the relationality and complementarity categories in the Miners’ Tales and Stories by Wanca Willca, an author from Jujuy. The book consists of stories that could be defined as children’s and juvenile ones telling stories, in which there are not always happy endings, set in the bloody mine environment.By applying the relationality and complementarity categories the essay will set out the identification, in the stories, of two ways of dealing with that violence. The first will be focused from the perspective of man’s relationality with his surrounding, from the protection provided by the huacas or tutelary gods that help and restore balance. A second orientation will be from the predominant role of the community, the complementarity with the other as the nucleus of saving action and only resource of liberation.

Cinema is young narrative phenomenon. Given that its development has been —and continues to be— vertiginous, it is, sometimes, quite difficult to explain. The different elements that play a part in the development of stories —images, sounds, montage, etc.— are so many and so different that to explain or define them is too grand a chore for a single document. This paper aims at identifying and describing, from the relations between cinema and literature, and from an structural point of view, the montage technics, the construction of parallel storylines and dramatic irony, all of which are important components of modern cinema.

The evaluation of teachers has been conducted with instruments such as the Teacher Behavior Checklist (TBC), whose evidence of content validity was obtained by verbal reporting. The relationship between six TBC items and the “Good Teacher” stimulus was assessed using the IRAP, and the correlation between the score of participants in an undergraduate course and the teacher’s assessment was assessed. Forty university students participated, who answered both instruments and reported the grade received in the discipline. The D-IRAP scores’ averages were statistically significant for “good teacher-positive-true” and “bad teacher-negative-true”. The correlation indexes between the participants’ grades in the discipline and the way they evaluated the teacher were not statistically significant.

The psychological well-being (PW) is a quality of life indicator at individual and collective levels. The university population is vulnerable to low levels of PW. Sex and personality features affect the PW. To deepen one’s knowledge of these factors would be of value to the development of interventions – according to the specific requirements for college students. The objective of this paper is to compare the predictive capacity of sex and personality features on the dimensions of the PW, and analyze if sex has a moderating effect in relation to personality and PW. We evaluated to 407 college students through self-report questionnaires. Sex resulted a significant predictor for autonomy and personal growth. The personality features showed predictive capacity over the dimensions of PW: extraversion, neuroticism, self-acceptance awareness, and control of the environment; extraversion an...

The current panorama of research on oral literatures -particularly Quechua and Aymara- is related to different disciplines, such as philosophy, sociology, anthropology or ethnography; or rather, it cannot do without them. The interest of this historiographical article is centred on explaining the functions that the publication of literary articles in the journal Allpanchis Phuturinqa, a publication very often related to the interest in knowledge that the social sciences develop on the basis of the culture and customs of the Andean people, fulfilled and continue to fulfil. The objective is to detail the what before the how; therefore, the articles of the magazine that collaborate with Peruvian literary criticism are presented and how they are combined with the different critical productions of literary interest throughout the years in which the research of Allpanchis Phuturinqa has been p...

In the ashaninka world view, it is considered that at the beginning the earth was inhabited by ashaninkas that became animals afterwards. This is a story that was originally told by the elders. The paujil (bird) was a person before, it lived in the top of a mountain with its relatives in a house. One day an ashaninka found the place were the paujil used to drink, from then on the contact with the paujil-man was established. When the paujil and the ashaninka hunter talked, the hunter asked the paujil not to cause more harm to the ashaninkas. Before saying good bye, the ashaninka received a pituca (tuber) as a gift, and this pituca turned into a paujil when the ashaninka arrived home.

The anthropologist as a person often remains a blind spot. Yet it is the fit, more or less favorable or unfortunate, between a specific social context and a particular anthropologist that partly shapes the course and outcome of fieldwork. Hence the importance of mentioning the anthropologist’s biographical events and experiences, as well as his or her physical and relational characteristics, insofar as they have an impact throughout the work. Such information helps readers better assess the quality of the research. However, this form of self-analysis remains an uncertain exercise, without protocol or model. Drawing on the example of an immersive fieldwork I carried out between 1996 and 1999 within the National Front, a French far-right political party, I show how the research was facilitated by my Catholic and right-wing upbringing, and complicated by my intimate life with two men, one...

Cemento-ossifying fibroma is a true neoplasm that belongs to the group of benign fibro-osseous lesions. It is characterized by the replacement of bone tissue with fibrous connective tissue that undergoes mineralization, and its diagnosis can be challenging due to its similarity to other lesions. Its origin has been theorized to be odontogenic or from the periodontal ligament, as it can produce cementum-like material within the bone trabeculae. We present the case of an 8-year-old female patient diagnosed with a cemento-ossifying fibroma in the mandible, measuring 50 × 32 mm, who underwent lesion excision along with the dental organs, without recurrence during follow-up. This neoplasm is relatively rare in patients in the third and fourth decades of life and even less common in pediatric patients; therefore, its diagnosis must be carried out comprehensively.

Drawing on the critical race theory, this text proposes to investigate how the mechanisms of institutional racism act in the different spheres of the State through an in-depth study of the case of Algendones. Using documentary sources, but also interviews, the work develops a socio-legal analysis of the case of denunciation of racial discrimination in Peru. The methodology is based on storytelling or the experience of the victim in different parts of the process. It starts from the premise that anti-black racism is a system of oppression historically built from the colonial past as a legacy of racial enslavement. This legacy has an impact on legal practice and theory by limiting the scope of the category of the human and, therefore, of the subject of law. Specifically, the category of fungibility is used as an element of survival of racial slavery that acts as an impediment to prosecute ...

The objective of this article is to develop a quantitative analysis of the worker's conflict in Argentina between 2006 and 2022 with special emphasis on the period opened in 2012. The analysis seeks to explain the trends and breaks in its evolution by integrating the economic, institutional, and political perspectives of the study of the conflict as moments of an analysis of power relations. This allows us to transcend the identification of correlations between variables to, based on the relationships found, insert the various dimensions of the process into a historical narrative.

Using Gerald Taylor’s translation of chapter 24 of the Huarochiri quechua manuscript from the beginning of the XVII century, as well as his comments and notes to this text, the aim is to identify the attributes of Ñamsapa, progenitor of the checas, and evidence the symbolic, metonymic, relation established between this objects and who exhibit them. Comparing the Huarochiri indians traditions with the myths and rituals figuring in prehispanic iconographies, particularly mochica, it is intended to show that the narratives as well as the images relate to the same cosmovision, religion and Andean civilization, old of tree millenniums.

Most of the literature that has emerged about the impacts of home isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic suggests it causes mildly to acutely adverse psychosocial and physiological responses, particularly in children. Such responses relate to the separation children experience from their normal routine, including loneliness, anxiety, and depression, and adversities associated with school performance. In this case study, we explore the intersection between three phenomena in Perú: (1) practice of Transcendental Meditation by school students at a (2) provincial school during (3) home isolation. The study conducted semi-structured interviews at a school in Puno with seven students, three parents, and two teachers. A proto-theoretical model of stress, the stress response, and outcomes in three psychosocial categories—cognitive, affective, and conative—guide the research. Findings sugges...

We propose to briefly state the concepts that relate the melodrama to a way of being and to be in Latin America, how mass media -especially television- have adopted it and adapted it to constitute it in “the way” of narrating ourselves. We will provide a way to approach to fictional content in television that allows us to read the subjectivities and particular recognitions, always in tension with other fictions of diverse origins, whose productions have strong contributions of capital, talent, and expertise. This invitation, in short, is nothing more than a reflection that attempts to unravel the idea that there is “a large” global village of which we are part of undividedly, as opposed to the idea that, despite the great penetration of audiovisual productions from different latitudes, there are territorial identifications that contribute to this collective construction of Latin ...

Objective. To elucidate the traits of the characters (seductive animal and deceived maiden) and the symbolic meaning they represent within the imagination of the runa, based on a series of oral narratives known as "the animals in love." This exploration is grounded in the principles of relationality, specifically complementarity. Methodology. An interpretative analysis was conducted on a narrative collected in the province of Dos de Mayo, Huánuco (Peru). Results. Romantic relationships between a human and an animal fail due to their asymmetrical nature, which contradicts the concept of complementarity or yanantin (a fundamental condition for forming couples in the Andean context). Allegorically, it depicts a runa paired with a mana-runa, signifying the union of an ayllu (community) member with one who does not share or harmonize with the same ideological and ethical principles of the co...
