In this paper we propose a behavioral explanation for the survival of poorly performing asset managers. We argue that, in general, asset managers make use of copious amounts of correct but useless information to convince investors about their supposed superior ability to interpret the market. Their marketing skills and motivational speeches seem to be enough to maintain asset managers in business regardless of the results. We present data that show how bad a number of asset managers can be. We also show how prevalent asset managers’ underperformance is. We argue that some Wall Street professionals are able to fool almost all of their clients most of the time into believing that they add value in the services they provide while the data show that this is not true. What we cannot show with this data is whether managers actually believe they are as good as they claim they are, or are not ...

To assess the association between women’s autonomy and intimate partner violence (IPV) against women of childbearing age. Secondary analysis of the 2019 Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES-acronym in Spanish) was carried out. The study population was women aged 15–49 years who are currently married or living with a partner. A Poisson family generalized linear regression model was estimated to calculate adjusted prevalence ratios (aPR) for the association between women’s autonomy and IPV with their respective 95% confidence intervals (CI). Data from 18,621 women were analyzed. The highest proportion of women had low autonomy (low: 42%; moderate: 39.2%; high: 18.8%). A prevalence of IPV of 40.1% was found (psychological/verbal: 38.8%; physical: 8.8%; sexual: 2.3%). The high rate of youth unemployment in Spain, surpassing the average of the countriesof the European Union, has forced a series of initiatives that were introduced in thedocument Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment Strategy. This article aims toapproach those measures with a legal-labor component, with particular reference toLaw 11/2013. This law articulates a series of measures through incentives to hiring,and its first result should lead to the reduction of youth unemployment. Thereforewe need to make reference to new contractual arrangements, to the reforms of thecurrent rules or to the recruitment incentives, which are linked to training activities.

The aim of this work was to determine the sex ratio of the offspring born from ovulations of the left or right ovaries in naturally mated llamas. Females (n=188) with the presence of an ovarian follicle ≥7 mm received controlled natural mating (Day 0). Ovulation was confirmed on day 2 by the disappearance of the ovarian follicle (n=146). Then, 104 (71.2%) females diagnosed pregnant by ultrasonography were obtained 40-45 days after mating. The mating and calving date, sex and body weight of the calf at birth were recorded in 92 individuals. The overall sex ratio of the offspring and the sex ratio of the offspring from each ovary were compared using the Chi-square goodness-of-fit test, with the expected ratio being 1:1. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el efecto de la administración de progesterona (P4) exógena por medio de un dispositivo intravaginal (DIV) colocado entre los días 3 y 7 o la inyección de hCG al día 6 posterior al apareamiento natural sobre la elongación del conceptus, la concentración plasmática de P4, la tasa de preñez y mortalidad embrionaria/ fetal durante la estación reproductiva en llamas de la Puna argentina. Hembras adultas con folículo ovárico >7 mm fueron apareadas (día -2) y se realizó la ultrasonografía el día 0 para confirmar ovulación. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effects of long-acting progesterone (LAP4) administered in the early stages of gestation on plasma P4 concentration and pregnancy and embryonic / fetal mortality rates between 30 and 60 days of gestation. Adult females (n = 92) with the presence of an ovarian follicle >7 mm were naturally mated with males of proven fertility (day -2). At day 0, ovarian ultrasonography was performed to confirm the occurrence of ovulation. On day 2, females that ovulated were assigned to receive a dose of 50 mg IM of LAP4 (LAP450, n = 26), 100 mg of LAP4 (LAP4100, n = 22), or 5 ml of saline (Control, n = 25). En el presente trabajo se registran 3 nuevos asteroideos (Echinodermata: Asteroidea) de aguas someras (4 - >50 m) para el Perú: Astropecten regalis Gray, 1840, Paulia horrida Gray 1840 y Meyenaster gelatinosus (Meyen, 1834). Astropecten regalis se conocía desde el Golfo de California hasta Panamá, en el presente trabajo, se amplía su distribución hasta Máncora, Perú. La distribución geográfica de Paulia horrida era conocida desde Baja California, hasta Isla Cocos, Costa Rica, en este estudio se amplía su distribución geográfica hasta Punta Sal, Perú.
