The city of São Paulo is known for its large number of immigrants in the past and in the present. These groups produce their presence in the public space, as is the case of Bolivian immigrants. This paper aims to examine some of these enunciative marks to decipher some of the meanings produced by immigrants in urban space. For this, I use the semiotics of Algirdas Julien Greimas and, mainly, the sociosemiotics of Eric Landowski. Thus, I hope to show how alterity is a constitutive part of urban space and think about some consequences of this manifestation of meaning for Brazilian society.

Walking plays the role of the primary structuring axis of the landscape. Recent studies highlight the importance of evaluating walkability from a gender perspective. This article addresses this gap, analysing different in the use of space in central areas of São Paulo, through an urban ergonomic evaluation. The results revealed that the presence of women on the sidewalks is related to mixed-use areas and the presence of active facades. It is suggested that urban planning policies consider these specificities to promote gender equity in walkability and improve the quality of life in cities.

Una mañana de 1982, interesada en saber cómo los anarquistas entendían el "amor libre", fui a investigar a la Biblioteca Nacional de Rio de Janeiro, donde me encontré con la siguiente indicación en el fichero: "amor libre - véase prostitución". Descubrí así que la prostitución tenía una historia, a pesar de ser considerada "la profesión más antigua del mundo", y que mucho de esa historia había sido hecho no sólo por los personajes característicos del mundo bohemio —prostitutas, "matronas", gigolós, clientes-, sino también por los médicos higienistas y criminólogos, autores de innumerables tesis y tratados científicos sobre las "perversiones sexuales" y la sexualidad en general.

The objective of this review was to perform an integrative review of the Brazilian literature on how health issues are included in the curriculum of physical education in the state of Sao Paulo. Data bases of LILACS, Digital library of thesis in Brazil were reviewed. We selected studies that included health issues divided into three categories; superficial description of the topic, ignored health issues and detailed description of health issues. We identified 439 sources including 24 studies. In eleven of them a superficial cover was detected, four covered the issues in depth and nine ignored the issue. Two studies were identified in the 1970-1989 and 1990-1999 periods. Just one of them centered in health topics. This article describes a new species –Trinibaculum altiparanae sp. n. –found in the gills of the Astyanax altiparanae Garutti & Britski, 2000. Fish were collected from the Peixe River in the municipality of Anhembi, State of São Paulo, Brazil, in March 2010. This paper describes the third species of the genus Trinibaculum. This new species is characterized by having an accessory structure that does not articulate with the male copulatory organ (MCO). Este artículo discute el alcance analítico del concepto de gentrification, resaltando las similitudes entre la descripción bibliográfica de los pioneros de la gentrification y grupos jóvenes de clases superiores genéricamente denominados hipsters cuya concentración en barrios centrales de grandes ciudades es comúnmente interpretada como un síntoma del aumento de los costos de vida locales. Fifteen specimens of bufonid toad Rhinella icterica (Spix, 1824), 7 males and 8 females, collected in themunicipality of Botucatu, São Paulo State, Brazil, from March 2002 to January 2003, were examined forhelminth parasites. All toads were infected with at least one parasite species (overall prevalence = 100%). Five helminth species were found, including four nematode species, Rhabdias fuelleborni Travassos, 1926, Oswaldocruzia subauricularis (Rudolphi, 1819), gen. sp. no identified Cosmocercidae Travassos, 1925 and larvae of Physaloptera Rudolphi, 1819, and one acanthocephalan species, Acanthocephalus saopaulensis Smales, 2007. Rhabdias fuelleborni and A. saopaulensis were the most abundant species. Except for Physalopteridae larvae, all helminths occur in high prevalence (> 70%). All helminth species presented a distribution toward to more aggregated pattern in these host samples.

A study on the nematode parasites of nine species of freshwater fishes from Peixe River São Paulo, State, Brazil. was conducted. Phosphorus is an essential element for life and, when scarce, this macronutrient is a limiting factor for primary production. Phosphorus (P) is a widely used element in the composition of fertilizers, besides being present in large quantities in domestic effluents. Its accumulation in the springs is related to the proliferation of algae and cyanobacteria. In excess, P is a pollutant that contributes greatly to the eutrophication, development of reduced conditions and deterioration of water bodies.
