description El sistema financiero peruano ha crecido considerablemente, de manera especial desde finales de la década de 1990. Su dinámica se relaciona, por supuesto, con el crecimiento de la economía y la entrada de capitales externos. Sin embargo, también refleja los aciertos en el manejo de la política monetaria y las políticas macroprudenciales, cuyas medidas redundaron en la mayor solidez de las empresas financieras. Ello permitió enfrentar con buenos fundamentos la crisis financiera internacional en 2007 a 2009, y la crisis sanitaria asociada con la pandemia del COVID-19. Estas políticas macroprudenciales, orientadas a preservar la estabilidad financiera, son consistentes con políticas similares adoptadas internacionalmente.
